Flapjacks
A recipe for flapjacks, similar to muesli bars made from whole oats.
Servings: 10 pieces
Equipment
- saucepan
- baking tray 20cm square
Ingredients
- 110 g brown sugar
- 110 g butter
- 1 tbsp golden syrup
- 175 g whole oats
- 3/4 tsp ground ginger
Instructions
- Heat 110 g brown sugar, 110 g butter and 1 tbsp golden syrup in a saucepan, stirring infrequently.110 g brown sugar, 110 g butter, 1 tbsp golden syrup
- Remove from heat and stir in 175 g whole oats and 3/4 tsp ground ginger, mixing thoroughly.175 g whole oats, 3/4 tsp ground ginger
- Pour into pre-greased 20cm square baking tin and press out evenly.
- Cook for 45 minutes in a 150C oven.
- Allow mixture to cool in the tin for 10 minutes and then cut into oblong bars.
- Remove from tin when cold and store in an air-tight container.
Notes
Delicious with a cup of tea.
